Could it be that Zynga’s dominance in the social casino gaming market is showing signs of weakening? The competition in the social casino gaming world is heating up as all have their eyes on the ultimate prize of real-money gambling. While Zynga are still the number one on the list of most popular casino game, players like Caeser’s Interactive Entertainment’s Playtika with its’ Slotomania is attracting a lot of attention due to it rising popularity.

As we all know Caesar’s Interactive Entertainment is a subsidiary of the world’s largest gaming company Caesars Entertainment. CIE acquired social gaming company Playtika in 2011 which are behind the online hit of Slotomania which is in the Top 5 grossing games on Apple’s iPad and iPhone and even surpasses the likes of Angry Birds. It has become the world’s largest free-to-play slots game in the world.

Playtika through their parent company CIE has managed to boost their online presence through partnerships with leading global brands like Facebook, Yahoo, Apple, Google and Microsoft just to mention a few.

Caesars’ acquisition of Playtika was largely seen as the main reason why the company saw an increase of over 84% in year-on-year revenue increases in their business segment that includes Caesars Interactive Entertainment. With Playtika’s Slotomania falling under the umbrella of Caesars Interactive this partnership is seen by many as one of the groundbreaking mergers and acquisitions (M&A) that has set the casino and social gaming markets alight.

The merging of global leading casino brands with social casino giants are proving to be one of the most interesting and potentially most lucrative partnerships in the gambling world today. It is here where applications like Slotomania may have a temporary upper hand until Zynga manages to cement land-based casino partners to monetize their premium Texas Hold’Em Poker App which is still the most popular online social poker offering in the world.

We look forward to following the developments with interest as the social casino gaming market is proving to be an integral part of the online gambling market and indeed the online social gaming market in general.
