New Jersey To Offer Real Money Fantasy Sports Betting

The state of New Jersey has made another move which solidifies their reputation as pioneers in the pursuit of legalizing online gambling. According to reports New Jersey is set to offer punter the chance to partake in fantasy sports betting with a pilot program that will be announced on Monday. The state Division of Gaming Enforcement has informed casinos that will permit them to accept entry fees from gamblers and even pay out winnings from casino cash cages.

The exact details of proposed agreement are to be announced on Monday yet it is believed that potential players will get the chance to draft a pool of athletes in which they get to compete with other fantasy teams. Those who win will receive the cash. The other question to be addressed will be whether players get to gamble online or would need to bet in person at the casinos.

According to Joe Brennan, president of the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association,” This gives players the option to deposit money and then play daily fantasy games, where they pick three or five Major League Baseball or National Football League or National Basketball Association players and build an aggregate roster just for that one day. Just like those leagues where you pick teams and follow them all season, you won’t have to wait till the end of the year to see who wins. You would just wait till the end of the day to see who wins the prize.”
