As all our regular readers are aware we have been bringing you the latest news in the U.S. online gambling legalization issue in light of the Justice Department’s new stance on the Wire Act of 1961.

Online scratch card players have been following the developments with interest as we believe that the option of playing online scratch cards should be open to all.

There is no justification for any country to try to prevent online scratch card players indulging in what we consider a right and not a privilege.
Online scratch cards have the potential to contribute much needed additional sources of income for state coffers in these difficult economic times.

Congressman Frank Pallone announced that on Jan 23, he along with New Jersey State Senators Raymond Lesniak and Jim Whelan plan on introducing a bill in the New Jersey State House which will legalize sports betting in New Jersey. The proposed bill is aimed at excluding New Jersey from the federal ban on professional and amateur sports gambling.

As we have been reporting in November 2011 the voters in New Jersey approved a ballot measure which would approve the state amending existing legislation that would allow them to offer sports betting in New Jersey. Last week Gov. Christie signed a historic bull which would allow all persons over the age of 21 to place sports bets as designated casinos and racetracks should the federal ban be lifted. The bill was passed overwhelmingly with over 66% of voters who backed the ballot.

Pallone stated,” The existing federal law is unconstitutional and arbitrary, giving four states access to this billion-dollar industry while shutting out the rest. This legislation will help even the playing field and uphold our state’s wishes on what is clearly a state issue.”

Online scratch cards are so user friendly and most scratch card websites offer you free sign up bonuses and the ability to play in practice mode without having to lay out any real money.

As soon as you feel comfortable with your chosen online scratch card game you have the option of depositing real money and you can start scratching and winning immediately.

The main stumbling block to the proposed bill is the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 which was sponsored by Former Senator. Bill Bradley places a ban on sports betting in all but four states namely Nevada, Delaware, Oregon and Montana.

Sen.Lesniak is one of the most vocal supports of legalizing online gambling in New Jersey. He expressed his sentiments regarding Pallone’s plans,” We appreciate Congressman Pallone’s effort to get Congress to give New Jersey what our residents overwhelmingly want, the same ability to place bets on sporting events that it has given to the residents of Nevada and to boost revenues and jobs at our casinos and racetracks.”

Online scratch cards are the ideal way to enable online gambling with minimum cost. There are online scratch cards that enable new online players to start betting from as low as 10p.

In the current economic downturn, who would not want to place themselves in the position of winning an instant life changing jackpot of over £100,000?
