Nevada Gov. Sandoval Beats New Jersey To The Punch With Online Gambling Bill

Nevada has managed to beat their rival state New Jersey to the punch when they became the first state to legalize online gambling. The legislation was signed by Gov. Brian Sandoval on Thursday after lawmakers passed the bill through both the Senate and Assembly.

While Nevada have overtaken New Jersey, Gov. Christie is set to pass an amended online gambling bill in the next few weeks which would have then hot on the heels of Nevada.

With Nevada legalizing online gambling on an interstate basis, this is seen by many like Gov. Sandoval as a historic day for the state of Nevada. Sandoval sees the bill as vital to Nevada’s growth and status as a leader in the online gambling arena.

Today I sign into law the framework that will usher in the next frontier of gaming in Nevada. This bill is critical to our state’s economy and ensures that we will continue to be the gold standard for gaming regulation.”

Nevada sees itself as the state with the best infrastructure and expertise for online gambling while other states have the benefit of expanding their customer base.
