French National Lottery operator Francaise des Jeux (Fdj) has releases positive end year results and reported a turnover of €11.4 billion which is an impressive increase of 8.4% over 2010.

The operator’s strong results were mainly due to the lottery which made up for bad results in its online sports betting sector which recorded a 15% decrease in revenues.

Instant games also continued their downward trend with sales falling by 8% compared to 2010.
Fdj was further boosted with positive news as its monopoly will remain unchallenged due to two recent court rulings in France.

The action was brought before the court by competing StanleyBet who wanted to operate betting shops in France and digital who were looking to operate online games in the French market.
