The operator of the national lottery Camelot have announced they will be offering retailers who have Scratchcard only terminals the chance to sell Lotto and EuroMillions tickets as well via their existing terminals. Last year Camelot rolled out 10,000 standalone National Lottery Scratchcard terminals across stores in the UK. This was aimed at further expanding their reach and fulfilling the growing demand from the public.

In terms of the plans from early next year retail providers will sell the expanded range of games through their current Scratchcard terminal but with the simple addition of a printer and software upgrade.

Head of Retail Sales at Camelot, Peter Cooper explained the initiative,” This exciting initiative will help us to satisfy ongoing strong demand for National Lottery games, and give the public even better access to them. It’s great news for our smaller retail partners who, possibly because of lower turnover and footfall, wouldn’t ordinarily be suitable for an Altura terminal. It gives them a fantastic opportunity to benefit from selling the full range of National Lottery games and so add further value to their businesses.”

In terms of commission retailers who sign up to sell National Lottery Games with their Scratchcard terminals will earn 6% commission per scratchie as well as an additional 5% commission per National Lottery tickets sold.
