Caesars Adds Buffalo Studios To Their Strategic Social Casino Gaming Acquisitions

Almost a year ago Caesars Interactive Entertainment completed their acquisition of Israeli-based gaming developer Playtika.  There is no doubt that 2012 was the year where social casino games took on another meaning. With Facebook launching real money gambling with their Bingo Friendzy the gates have been opened up to other social casino deals which are set to take place in 2013.

With the U.S online gambling market opening up in the U.S. and other global markets. The possibility to monetize social casino games has never looked so attractive.Caesars Interactive Entertainment is looking to extend their reach in this growing market and as such announced their acquisition of Bingo Blitz operator Buffalo Studios. This is their second noteworthy acquisition after Playtika.

Chief executive of Caesars Interactive Mitch Garber explained their thinking behind the acquisition,” The Bingo Blitz business represents a unique opportunity for Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE) to add to our leading product portfolio of social and mobile game assets and to grow our market share across all interactive platforms. The team at Buffalo Studios’ Santa Monica office includes deeply talented product, technology and creative personnel and we anticipate that, together with CIE, it can bolster this category and develop new and exciting game offerings.”

Bingo Blitz has seen impressive growth particularly in the mobile sector which is seen as the largest growth area in the gambling industry. They have over 2.7 MAU’s and have launched their Bingo Rush and Bingo Blitz app for both the iOS and Android platforms.

In terms of the agreement 74 Buffalo employees will remain at The Santa Monica base while integrating the Bingo Blitz and Bingo Rush brands into an affiliate of the Playtika brand. There is no doubt that one of the hottest trends to follow in 2013 will be that of social casino gambling merging into the real money market sector. Major casino companies like IGT and Caesars are looking to capitalize on this untapped market by utilizing the loyal base of social casino players who are loyal to brands like those of Buffalo Studios.
